Ingredients
This recipe only uses a few simple ingredients which makes it one of the many easy meals you will make and enjoy for game day.
- french bread
- olive oil
- chicken tenders
- bacon
- iceberg lettuce
- tomato
- ranch
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
- Step 1: Bake chicken tenders according to the directions on the package. Cook the bacon on medium heat until fully crisp. Wash and pull apart the lettuce and slice the tomatoes.
- Step 2: Slice the french bread on a diagonal. Place on a baking sheet and coat in olive oil. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake at 350 degrees for 5-10 minutes until they reach the desired crisp. A deep golden brown color is preferred but make sure they do not burn.
- Step 3: Place the chicken strips, bacon, lettuce and tomato on a cutting board. Chop until all of the food is in small pieces and mixed together evenly. Toss in ranch.
- Step 4: Place a spoonful of the chopped chicken bacon ranch on each crostini. Garnish with a dollop of ranch on top. Serve immediately.
Hint: use a sharp knife when chopping the ingredients. This makes the process much quicker and easier. As you chop, continuously move ingredients that push off to the sides into the middle to assure everything is evenly chopped in the end.
Substitutions
- Lettuce - instead of ice berg lettuce, you can use romaine lettuce or spinach
- Chicken - use a rotisserie chicken, chicken breasts or chicken thighs instead of breaded chicken. You could also use leftover chicken from a recipe to really make the process easier
- Ranch - instead of using pre-made ranch, use homemade ranch or to change it up use sour cream
Variations
- Sliders - make chicken bacon ranch sliders on Hawaiian rolls
- Gluten Free - instead of using the bread, use bell peppers and make a chicken bacon ranch stuffed pepper with cheddar cheese and green onions on top
- Kid friendly - add crushed potato chips on top for a fun crunch

Equipment
To create this recipe you will need a large cookie sheet, a frying pan or electric griddle to cook the bacon, a sharp knife and a cutting board. A large bowl is also helpful to put the chopped chicken bacon ranch in when you are ready to spoon chicken mixture on to the crostini.
Storage
Store the chopped chicken bacon ranch separately from the crostini. Reassemble and warm in the oven at 350 degrees for about 5-10 minutes before serving.
These ingredients don't stand up well to freezing. Items such as the chicken tenders, french bread and bacon can be stored in the freezer prior to cooking.
Top tip
Use an electric griddle or a hot griddle of some sort to make sure the bacon cooks as evenly as possible. If you use a frying pan, sometimes the bacon bunches up and does not cook evenly. It is very important for a recipe like this that the bacon is cooked evenly and is completely crisp.
FAQ
This is the perfect game day recipe and the entire family is going to love it. It is just a few simple steps to create so it is perfect if you need a quick appetizer to throw together for a game day party.
Absolutely! This recipe is perfect to make bacon ranch chicken sliders with. When making these, make sure you spread some melted butter with garlic or garlic powder with a pastry brush on top of the Hawaiian sweet rolls for an extra pop of flavor. You could also sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese on top so when they bake you get melted cheese covering your sliders. This will provide some extra texture and flavor.
I love to get the ranch seasoning mix packets and mix it with sour cream. So simple yet so delicious. It really adds a pop of flavor for this recipe.
